Questions about Generics

I never asked questions about Generics in an interview (and I didn’t like being asked such questions). It seems to me that the question is not very difficult, but it is difficult to explain it verbally, and the developer can always look up the information on Google and remember how to write it correctly (this is impossible in an interview).

I'm interested in your opinion about questions about generics in interviews:

• In what format? Code questions or just talking Q&A?
• Do you think it is useful and necessary to ask such questions during an interview?
