Roadmap: vNext

This is an updated discussion on the Roadmap.

The current idea is to have a two-phased transition (based on the current major version 7):

• v7-next
• v8

The biggest issues to cover are currently:

• simple schema 3.x will not 100% work with Meteor, this project is still using simple schema 1.x
• we should find a way to get independent of SimpleSchema, however this seems to be very difficult when at the same time keeping support for all the custom form types and complex validations
• we might there keep the SimpleSchema notation format but may use a custom library for actual cleaning and validation
• this is still to be discussed
• we definitely need to be Meteor async compatible, including async Tracker
