In principle, Graphix can handle the simulation of non-unitary patterns but this has not been investigated. Indeed, it is not even clear how to test these kinds of properties. Hence, analysing it could lead to bug discovery and/or additional feature requirements.

This issue proposes to

  1. Implement the propositions put forth in Azses, Ruhman and Sela, Nonunitary Gates Using Measurements Only, Phys. Rev. Lett. 133, 260603, 2024 (preprint).
  2. Depending on the implementation, identify modifications/new features to add to Graphix to make such investigations easier, robust and repeatable.
