Icon does not scale to same message font-size

The message text has padding top and bottom of 10px.
The icon has padding top 10px.
This should align the icon with the message.
However this is not the case. Maybe due to inherited font size, or alignment, etc.
(For my specific case, halving the padding on the icon aligned perfectly...)
