i'd love to have a GH Action that produces output for a job's matrix of targeted Python versions derived from the trove class in the project metadata.

it's now part of hynek's GH Action build-and-inspect-python-package that is used in the workflows here.

as hatch grows out of proportion i'd consider to use nox as tool for environment definition and task invocation once it provides a reasonable way to re-use virtual environments. i'd stick to hatchling as build backend as long as the mypycification isn't off the table.
